The Arizona Trail is an 820 mile non-motorized trail that traverses the State from Mexico to Utah. The Arizona Trail is intended to be a primitive, long distance trail that highlights the state's topographic, biologic, historic and cultural diversity. The trail's primary users are hikers, equestrians and mountain bicyclists (outside of wilderness or other specially managed areas). The Arizona Trail was designated as a National Scenic Trail on on March 30, 2009.
The AZNST is administered by the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Interior.
