Here's a brief overview of what the Natural Bridge Appalachian Trail Club is about: NBATC is a Class A member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and an affiliate member of American Hiking Society. Ninety miles of the Appalachian Trail in Nelson, Amherst, Rockbridge, Botetourt, and Bedford counties, from Tye River to Black Horse Gap are maintained by the NBATC. Individual club members assume responsibility for small sections. Maintenance is the primary mission of the NBATC. Not only does the NBATC maintain 90.6 miles of the Appalachian Trail in the heart of the Blue Ridge, but the Club is responsible for several adjoining trails as well - the Blue Blaze Trails. The NBATC publishes an activites schedule early in the year; click on the Hiking Schedule tab of the Web page shown above.
