The Continental Divide Trail Society has been working since 1978 to create and improve the CDT - nearly 3000 miles through the Rocky Mountains from Canada to Mexico. The mission of the Society is to help in the planning, development, and maintenance of the CDT as a "silent trail" - free from motorized and mechanized (i.e., bicycle) vehicles in the same way as the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails, and to assist users plan and enjoy their experiences along the route.
However, it appears that the Continental Divide Trail Society does not engage in volunteer trail maintenance activities.
